Air Arabia will restart daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This move will re-establish a direct air connection between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. The airline announced the resumption on October 6 and indicated that tickets are now available for booking. The daily flights will link Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, this route reopening will facilitate direct daily travel between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in the southern part of India. The airline did not specify departure and arrival times in its October 6 statement, nor did it mention the aircraft type or flight numbers for the renewed daily service. These details were not included in the latest announcement either.
Adel Al Ali, the group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction at restoring the direct route. He emphasized that the daily flights would provide a convenient link for travelers between the two cities. Al Ali also highlighted the airline’s ongoing commitment to offering dependable travel options and connecting communities. The route’s return was motivated by strong travel demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, although passenger projections or traffic estimates were not disclosed.
Daily flights re-establish Kerala link
This Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The reintroduced India service will expand this lineup starting October 16. The airline has operated from Ras Al Khaimah since May 2014, when it launched flights at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, maintaining the emirate as one of its UAE hubs since then.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023, operating three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft. These flights took place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming 2026 restart will increase the frequency to daily, although the airline has not confirmed whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be retained in the new schedule.
Booking options available ahead of October launch
Passengers can reserve their seats through Air Arabia’s official website, call center, or authorized travel agencies. These booking channels were confirmed when the airline announced the October restart. The statement did not specify when the previous service was halted or provide reasons for the suspension. Fares, detailed schedules, or aircraft details for the renewed daily flights were also not disclosed, with the focus instead on the restart date, frequency, and city pairing.
The resumption on October 16 will bring Kozhikode back into Air Arabia’s Ras Al Khaimah network nearly three years after the route’s initial launch. The service will once again offer a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other schedule specifics remain undisclosed. Passengers interested in exact flight timings, flight numbers, or fares should consult the airline’s booking channels for current information. No additional changes to the route have been announced by the carrier.
